Community Heritage Grants
Knox Historical Society obtained one of the Community Heritage Grants awarded annually to community organisations by the National Library of Australia. KHS secretary, Catherine Turnbull, travelled to Canberra for an intensive training session and workshop over three days in connection with the $2700 grant for a Significance Assessment of the Ambleside collection.
The assessment was recently undertaken by a professional assessor. As part of the project members were asked to write significance statements on collection items they regard as important community assets in the heritage of the Knox community.

Knox Pride Award to KHS
The 2006 Knox Pride Heritage Award went to Knox Historical Society for the Hand Tools and Early Industry Display in the Tool Shed at Ambleside. A number of KHS members spent years collecting, cataloguing and arranging the display of the tools and implements in the collection. Congratulations go to these members for their great work now receiving just recognition.
Knox Historical Society also received a special commendation award for the Knox Pioneer Project.
The Society, as has been past practice, also acts as custodian for the awards record book. Knox Pride Awards have been presented on an annual basis since 1995.
The Knox Pride Awards recognise organisations, individuals and commercial operations within the community having a positive impact on the natural environment and urban amenity of the community.
