Warrandyte's historic Post Office building was saved from demolition after fire destroyed much of the building in 1982. Local residents formed a group to preserve and restore the building ensuring the survival of one of Victoria's earliest 'country' post offices.
The building houses a collection of artefacts relating to the town's past. Gold, Art, Aborigines and Domestic Life are the main themes of the museum.
