London Reef, 2015

Tarnagulla Leader 9.10.1868: "This reef, although constituting a more recent discovery, is situated to the south of the Great Western Reef, and is simply a continuation of the same line. The name of the great metropolis was conferred upon it by the original prospectors, whose longing for wealth and love of admiration appears to have failed to obliterate the recollections of the crowded city of their birth."

The workings are extensive and extend for about 200 metres. This image is looking north down to Ironbark Gully, a little above where the Magnum Bonum Nugget was discovered in July, 1889.

GPS: 36 degrees 46 minutes 56 seconds south, 143 degrees 49 minutes 50 seconds east.
