Star Reef Shaft, 2015
This shaft was commenced in 1880 by the Golden Star Company. While never a great success, the shaft was nevertheless utilised by various parties over many decades.
The shaft was concrete-capped in the early 1950s, but the cap has collapsed and the shaft is now another of the dangerous and deep excavations in the Half way area.
