MAYBE CORRECT - It appears that either answer could be correct, so if anybody knows for sure could they clarify this for us. Local historians believe that the "Rosedale Run" was named after Rose Okeden but it is also suggested that at least 3 of the first residents in the township area came from Yorkshire and the landscape of "Rosedale Abbey" (in the North Yorkshire moors) is apparently very similar and it would have reminded them of their homeland.
