This cup was donated to the Rosedale & District Historical Society Inc. several years ago by a Farley family member and mysteriously went missing from the collection.

The cup was won by Michael Farley at an annual Easter sports gathering at Rosedale in 1885. The write up about the sports day was found in the Gippsland Times dated Wednesday 8th April 1885 and mentions M Farley winning the cup.

The cup is engraved with details of the event and "M Farley" as the winner.

Should anybody know the whereabouts of the cup could they please contact the Rosedale Historical Society Inc. or their local police station.

This cup was quite a significant item in the Society's collection as the Rosedale Easter sports were a major event (such as the Stawell Gift) and run over many years. Click here to check out digitised images of old newspapers showing details and results of this event from 1885 to 1919.
