Moe is located in the Latrobe Valley in Gippsland, Victoria, Australia. It has an aboriginal history dating back thousands of years and a European history dating back to the 1840's. Moe is the largest urban centre in the district.


The Moe & District Historical Society was formed in 1963 and is dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the history of Moe and District.


The areas of interest include Coalville, Coopers Creek, Erica, Fumina South, Moe, Moondarra, Narracan, Newborough, Tanjil South, Walhalla and related gold field townships, Willow Grove and Yallourn.
