Diving: General Jessup wreck site BACK TO START

Location Kent Group: West Cove, Erith Island
The site lies approximately 25 meters off the beach and is located two thirds of the way between the Erith Island hut at the northern end of West Cove and the wreck of the steel fishing boat St. Nicholas exposed on the beach. The wreck site sits on sand and a sandstone reef. The site is typically sand covered.

Depth The site is in approximately in two metres of water.
Typical visibility
Favourable wind conditions The cove is sheltered from all except south to south east winds and occasional southern swells.
Access The site can be easily accessed from the beach at West Cove. Access to Erith Isand can only be made boat.
Best tides The site is uneffected by tides or currents.
Hazards
Points of interest 54 foot long section of keel with floor frames and ceiling and outer planking attached. A large amount of ballast stones are present on the site including cut limestone blocks.
