19th Century Farming in the Keilor Region

Last year our exhibition was about 'Closer Settlement' in Victoria and specifically how it affected this region. We are continuing on with this agricultural theme...The farmers and landowners that did come in the early part of the 19th Century were people like Hunter & Watson, William Taylor, and David Milburn. There were others and certainly other families came to reside in the Keilor district after the 1850s.

In this exhibition the focus is on telling some of the story about this rural history for this district. We have talked about different individuals and we have talked about some of their community work and we have shown some insight into their lifestyles because it also important to note many of these people came with virtually nothing.
