Thank you for visiting our Research Request Page. We would be happy to help you with your research.

The holdings of the Kerang & District Family History Group Inc. are conveniently housed at the Gannawarra Library, Shadforth Street, Kerang. For those who would like to visit to do their own research, the group has an extensive collection of resources available for public access during library hours. The library also subscribes to Ancestry.com.  We ask that those using our collection please leave a small donation at the desk. This assists us to purchase additional resources.

The Library has a computer, microfilm / microfiche reader & printer. If you need assistance or if you are coming from some distance away, please contact the research officer to make special arrangements.

Mail Enquiries

We welcome both Australian and worldwide mail enquiries. All research is carried out by officers in a voluntary capacity. There is no hourly charge although there is a modest fee of AU$30.00.
We include up to five (5) pages of photocopying in our $30 charge, but if more material is found, each additional A4 page will be charged at a rate of 50 cents but we will not exceed an additional $5 without your authorization. If required, further research and certificates can be arranged by negotiation.

Depending on the request, volunteers will search a variety of resources in our Library which include but are not limited to: Kerang Cemetery transcriptions, family and local histories, rates books, school records & numerous BD&M indexes.

The research officer spends a great deal of time viewing records, often with little or no results. This is not the fault of the researcher, as often the information is not available. Several visits to the library may be necessary to complete the research as far as possible. Enquiries will automatically be placed in the group newsletter. Source references are shown with replies i.e. cemetery, school or passenger lists. We cannot be held responsible for any mistakes made in official records.

Please download and complete the attached form, this together with your cheque or money order, should then be posted to:
