    About the Friends

The Friends of the Benalla Library Inc.

is a community group supporting the Benalla Library.

Our aims are to:

  •     Broaden general awareness of the library in the community
  •     Promote the library's services and facilities
  •     Help acquire books and other materials through fundraising activities
    To achieve our aims we:
  •     Raise funds through selling surplus books and running Easter and Christmas competitions;
  •     Use our funds to subscribe to several periodicals and provide prizes for various children's reading and writing competitions;
  •     Provide refreshments for various library functions including Writers on the Road, North-East Multicultural Days and children's writing competitions;
  •     Provide assistance with the children's writing competitions and the library stall at the Benalla Show;
  •     Seek provide opportunities for quality presentations on matters of interest and relevance to the local community;
  •     Liaise with local Councillors about library conditions and amenities.

Meetings

FoBL general meetings are open to all members, so come along and help us support our library.

The FoBL Committee meets every second month, at the Benalla Library (aka the Sir Edward Weary Dunlop Learning Centre).


Membership costs: Family: $10:  Individual: $5;  Life: $100;  Concession: $3.
