News of Society

Recent Activities

Members have been busy hosting events, with the first happening in early January by having the Museum open for a group of cyclists from Melbourne who stayed on the foreshore for the weekend. Then we had many people through the Museum on Australia Day and also had a plant stall. Even though the weather was hot, we were happy with the plant sales.

The Western Port Festival weekend, took place on 23rd and 24th February. Members were kept busy with displays and hosting visitors. The Museum was manned from 10 am to 4 pm.

Our new book “Hastings People & Places Vol. IV” is selling well and we have had good feedback.

Our Society was also represented at the meeting of the South Eastern Historical Association held 16th February at Koo-wee-rup.

We have had a change in the committee personnel and said goodbye to Ann Sullivan as secretary. Our new secretary is Rita Cooper.
