April 25 2010 Show: Hens all classes CANCELLATION OF BIRD SHOWS DUE TO HIGH TEMPERATURES
If the maximum temperature predicted in the Saturday afternoon forcast before a meeting is above 30 degrees Bird shows and bird sales will be canceled Victorian Zebra Finch 2nd Annual Show Date Sunday the 30th of May 2010 STUD BOOKS The club purchased a flock of high quality greys and fawns so that members could replace their stock birds and use these stud birds for outcrossing to other mutations. The club maintains a stud book to minimize inbreeding of these birds and so that members can be assured that birds they purchase do not contain recessive genes for unexpected mutations. The pedigree for these birds can be viewed from the side menu. Birds are identified by a six digit number. The first two numbers are the year of the band, the other four are the band number. THE FEDERATION OF ZEBRA FINCH SOCIETIES AUSTRALIA At the Feb 2010 AGM the members of Victorian Zebra Finch Inc voted to join Fed (The Federation of Zebra Finch Societies Australia). The steps to joining are: We need to find a club to sponsor our application. SEQZFS has offered to do this in the past. We need to find a club to second our application. The W.A. club has offered to do this. Our application will be voted on at the next Fed meeting, which is in Adelaide in August 2010.
Members of Victorian Zebra Finch Inc are welcome to attend the 2010 Fed meeting, teams show and sales. Date: August 6 - 9th Transport to and from the Airport can be arranged through the SA clubs meeting organisers. AGENDA |
