Projects
The Rotary Club of Yarraville gets involved with the local Community in a number of ways. We are currently working on several larger projects including one International project in Vietnam.
What Next Project Vietnam
With The What Next Project group our Club is working to build an outdoor educational area for the children in Vinh Cong Villiage Vietnam. The outdoor educational area will provide an area for local children to learn english language skills and other skills that will assist them in their adult life. This is our first International project and is being managed by Club President John Barcham.
AFL day at the footy
This annual event is a fun day out at the football. In partnership with local Mental Health Support Groups we start the day with a BBQ and then head for the MCG for a great day of football.
We are currently working with the Sudanese Community in Sunshine to help with the running of two basket ball teams. Our Club has established a Longhorns Committe with members from our Club and members from the Sudanese Community to help the under 18 team and under 16 teams continue in the Sunshine competition.
Christmas Carols at Yarraville Gardens
This family event is very popular. Together with the Maribyrnong City Council and the Rotary Club of West Footscray we host a night of singing and family entertainment in Yarraville Gardens.
