BUFFY, AN ADVENTURE STORY

Bob Graham

1999
PICTURE STORYBOOK
WINNER in 2001
SHORTLISTED in 2002

Buffy made me feel sad at parts and is one of those books that eventually gets happier. This book is about a poor dog that is an excellent magicians assistant. Buffy sadly gets fired by his owner because Buffy is the one that everyone comes to see and the magician gets jealous but Buffy gets lost and eventually finds his real home. The Illustrations are great in the book because they look like a cartoon.

We liked Buffy because he is a good dog. He is funny and cute. A little girl found him and she took him home. Buffy loved being with her and her family. We all enjoyed reading Buffy.

The best part of the story was when Buffy goes and buys some dog food. The story begins when Buffy is famous and the magician kicks Buffy out because he was jealous. I love the story. It was funny and it had fantastic illustrations. The characters are Buffy, Morag and her family.

Buffy is a great book and it is good for children of all ages. It is a bit sad at times but it is still a good family book. When Buffy’s owner the magician throws him out of his, Buffy is left to fend for himself. Buffy is forced to go live on the train tracks and he barely has enough money to buy himself some food. Buffy decides he has to live life to the tops and he goes in search of someone who will appreciate him and be his owner. Then Buffy jumps on a train and plays his harmonica and when he plays it, it sounds like the train noise. When the train eventually stops he plays his harmonica and taps his paws to the beat of the train. Everyone likes him with his tricks and all but none is willing to take him in as their care, except one little girl and her family. Every night after that they dance and sing with Buffy

I think the book is interesting because if you read the book you [and] understand the meaning of it and you might find a job in the book.

Two of the main characters are Buffy and Mary-Kelly.
I recommend this book for children from 6 to 11.
There was a dog called Buffy who worked for a magican and one night Buffy got fired. So he found some money and went to a shop and bought a can opener and a can of dog food, and went to an old train station. The next morning he hopped on a train and sat and played his harmonica. To find out what happens to Buffy read the book.

I thought Buffy an Adventure Story was a cute little book. It is a heart warming story for young readers. It has sad bits at the start, but then as the story goes on, it gets happier... Read the book to find out how!

Brillo the magician had an excellent assistant Buffy, a skillful dog. But Brillo becomes jealous of Buffy's popularity and sends him on his way "OUT and never come back". Buffy is confident and sets out on his own.] Someone comes and sees Buffy! Who is it and where will they take Buffy? Read the book to find out! The illustrations are very bright and colourful, and they are very well done!

Buffy is a little dog that wants to be a magician. He is very good when he does a magic show but he gets kicked out. He jumps onto a freight train, sits down and he plays a rhythm to the wheels. He tapped his foot and sang a song "out, out and never come back". He goes to sleep on the train as it continues its rhythm - What do you think will happen next?

Buffy is a dog on an adventurous journey to find a house for himself to live in. He used to be in a magic act but he became more popular than Brillo (the great magic man) so he got kicked out. He performed great tricks -- he could play the harmonica, tap dance and do fantastic tricks. I would recommend this book for ages 5 to 10. You notice that Bob Graham's illustrating style is the same for every book that he has done. Bob Graham is a fantastic author and illustrator so READ HIS BOOKS!

Buffy is a circus performing dog that is very good at juggling. Although I thought parts of this book were very heart breaking, I enjoyed it a lot.
