Wyclif Race Day
Well, another year and another cracking Race Day. This year 15 willing ladies and gents ventured out to the verdant surrounds of Healesville on a sunny 30 plus degree day. For some reason race day always has magic weather, and this was no exception. Forty dollars bought you the mini-bus to the course, entry, drinks and a share of the famous Wyclif Punters Club. A bargain in anyones book! Notable efforts on the day were (and in no partcular order): Brad winning another Wyclif sprint, Goody volunteering for the unenviable position of driver on the return leg, the wyclif punters club that saluted 4 times and bought us dinner and a few cheeky nightcaps, the uni for donating a minibus, and beautiful Tracey who stormed home in the last race much to the relief of our bank accounts. Thanks to everyone who went. For those who didn't, get your act together.

Vale Jean-Pierre Lajoie
The committee and Players of the Wyclif Cricket Club are deeply saddenned by the sudden passing of Jean-Pierre (JP) Lajoie. JP was a former club President(95/96-98/99), Treasurer and Junior Coordinator/Coach. He was an outstanding clubman who played a major part in the rejuvenation of the Club through its junior programme. Team mates and opposition players will remember Jean as a batsman with flair, bowler with finesse and guile and sportsman whose competitiveness and fair play was unquestioned. To his clubmen he will be remembered for his friendliness, positive and relaxed attitude. He played 97 games for the club, making 2013 runs at 22.9 and taking 66 wickets at 18.4.
He will be deeply missed.
Our thoughts are with Jane, Jacques, Caudie, and Family.

Practice Match vs. Vermont South C.C.
Two Wyclif sides battled Vermont South Cricket Club at Highfield Park in an important practice match before the season proper. A great day was had by all in two friendly yet competitive encounters. On the top oval Wyclif prevailed off the second last ball of the day with Paul Bartolo scampering through for a single after being dropped at leg gully. Alex maunder and Simon Mills both impressed with the bat whilst Paul Bartolo's swing bowling masterclass beguiled the crowd and bamboozled the VSCC batsmen. Another thriller on the bottom oval saw Wyclif defeated by 17 runs. Greg Clift again dominated with the willow and even Ed Hartley managed a timely 11. The day was a great success and enjoyed by players from both clubs.
Wyclif Season 2005/2006 Premiership Tilt Officially Launched
A strong turnout of players attended the offical Wyclif CC season launch at Highfield Park on Sunday the 18th. The day included a very informative talk by Colin Hanley and Tony Newman on the key ingredients to success. We thank both of the guys for putting in many hours of preparation for the day.
