The Queen Scout Award is the highest level of achievement in the Australian Venturer Scout Section. The Award is a great achievment and is recognised by employers and the wider community.The unit encouragesall its members to aim for the award because achieving is a fun worthwhile. In 1997 the scheme underwent a magor change. The ‘old scheme’ prior to this change was actually introduced in 1973. The 'old" system used the ‘Venturer Award’ as a stepping stone to the Queen Scout Award. Under the 'old' scheme, achievement tapes earned at the Venturer Award level had to be removed when their Queen Scout level equivalent was earned. Under the ‘New Scheme’ the ‘Venturer Award’ has been replaced by four diamond shaped ‘Icons’that form a single badge. Tapes earned under the 'new' scheme stay on the Uniform.
