Who we are

Western Trailable Yacht club has been operating since 1970. Originally, the founding members came from the western side of Melbourne, but now our membership is Melbourne wide.

WTYC is a small friendly club. We encourage family participation and organise our activities around that idea. It is not necessary to own a boat to belong to this club.

We have a full social calendar:

Racing

Once a month the WTYC races off the St Kilda marina. Visitors are welcome and encouraged to join the race and post mortems. All classes of trailable yacht are welcome and the personal base handicap system in use encourages close finishes and results. Ask about our famous novelty races.

Cruising

Cruising in company is one of lifes' pleasures and the the WYC we like to cruise and explore: the Yarra, the Maribyrnong, the Gippsland lakes, Port Phillip Bay, Westernport Bay, the Murray and even North Queensland.

Special Events

At WTYC we have our special activities. Our Christmas party and presentation nights are great nights, full of fun and tall stories. Out Easter getaway at Yarrawonga with its socialising, water acitivities and friendly atmospohere is sensational!
