2002 Senior Skins TournamentNovember 2002 The Kingsville TC again agreed to run the Skins Tournament for Senior Players on behalf of the WRTA. The tournament had a doubles round-robin format and players were chosen at random for the 5 rounds - giving everyone a chance to do well and play some tennis at the same time. In addition, a limited entry singles event was run later on in the day. The tournament was held just before the 2002 Melbourne Cup, on the 2nd of November 2002 and the weather ranged from warm and cloudy to windy and wet. The whole day was sponsored by Sunsmart. The Kingsville TC kindly lent their facilities for the day and administered the event. Brad Lowrie (Kingsville TC) and Tony Harvey (North Sunshine TC) took out the Doubles Final. The winners took home $50 and a Sunsmart pack each. Brad Lowrie made it a double when he unexpectedly took out the Singles Final over Rob Plochino (both of Kingsville). The winner took home $50 and a Sunsmart pack. The runner-up took home $25 and a Sunsmart pack. Thanks again to the Kingsville TC who put in a wonderful effort to run the tournament so successfully. |
