ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIONS UPDATE
The Western Regional Council wants
to remind you of our electronic communication. Electronic communication
is identifying the place of the internet and e-mail in the communication
ch
anne
ls of the region and the benefits that such communication has for parishes.
Although we imagine that these communication resources will primarily be used by those in Anglican Churches within the Region, the web page will also serve as a point of contact for enabling visitors to region and people on the margins of the church to find somewhere to worship and make contact.
There are two ways to participate in your web page and electronic communication:
e-group
Join the Western Region e-group via the button available on the web-page (www.vicnet.net.au/~wrdm).
This is a secure e-group and your application will need to be approved, so you won’t be receiving junk mail from any dog’s body. The e-group means that you can enter into discussions. Send your email and it goes to everyone in the e-group, when you reply, everyone in the e-group receives your comments.
Use the e-group to advertise parish functions, disseminate important information, raise relevant topics, seek advice from others, or express an opinion about something taking place in the church or world.
The e-group is open to ALL members of our region, Lay, Deacon, Priest, even the Bishop!
Web Page
Your Regional Web Page can be found at www.vicnet.net.au/~wrdm. It can be a place where people can find out information about your Church. Although it is still under construction it will include:
- links to established web sites of parishes within the region
- information regarding parishes within the western region
- contact details such as e-mail addresses
- service times
- church locations with Melways references
- access through approved sign up and log-in to minutes of meetings:
i. Western
Regional Council
ii. Deaneries
iii. Regional
Assembly
iv. Ad
Clerum
- links to other diocesan information
For this reason could you please forward to me (ststephensang@bigpond.com) the following information:
- Names of all clergy working within the parish and their particular focus if that is available.
- An email address for parish contact.
- The location address of the church(es) including Melways references
- The postal address for the parish (if different from the location address)
- Telephone contact for the parish
- Worship service times
- Description of parish ethos (no more than 50 words)
- A link to parish web site (if available)
The provision of this information on the web site means it becomes public so it is suggested that information is not personal, but parish, and the information submitted will be considered consent for it to be displayed on the Web Page.

Western Region Web Page
For those parishes that do not have their own Web Page we are establishing a web page for the Western Region of the Diocese of Melbourne. This page will contain information regarding your parishes contact details, worship times, and church location details for those seeking somewhere to worship. Visit your Web Page at www.vicnet.net.au/~wrdm today and watch this site develop and join the e-group to participate in regional discussions and advertise parish events and information.
Please pray for the development of the web page and commend it to and encourage your congregations to participate in it as a part of our life together.
