The client-side qualification may need some explanation, basically it means a page is fully functional off-line, for those of us with limited dial-up access this is important. It enables us to download the page whilst on-line but then ponder and respond off-line.

I envisage this site working primarily through email and a moderator, for the moment myself. All submissions and responses will arrive via email, the basic assumption being that anybody who uses the Internet at all will have acquired the ability to effectively operate email. The moderator is there to filter out unsuitable content, racial vilification, defamation etc and also the downright stupid. Material is then added to the web site.

For this site to succeed, the technology must not, even for one moment, frustrate the urge to comment and contribute. By keeping the base skill down to email the technical demands are kept to the minimum. More skilled contributors can include links in their pieces or use RTF attachments or even HTML attachments.

I imagine some kind of policy will evolve to manage the filtering process and to allow people to subsequently alter or remove material. Copyright issues need to be spelt out as well. Speaking for myself, I am far more likely to infringe copyright than to ever create anything of of such value that would make copyright an issue!
