Bellarine Woodworkers

The club is a Woodworking Club that meets in the SpringDale Neighbourhood Centre, High Street, Drysdale on the first and third Monday of each month at 1:30 PM.

With a membership of around 60 men and women, there are a wide range of experiences from which we can draw. In their "previous lives", the members came from all walks of life. We have retired engineers, farmers, school teachers, salesmen, ministers (they are the ones who don't swear out loud when they hit their thumbs with a hammer), boat builders, accountants. You name the occupation, and we will probably have a practitioner amongst our members!

The members are only too happy to share their experience, as woodworkers or in other fields, all remember the time when THEY first tried to cut or turn a piece of wood.

At our meetings, new and old members, experts and learners, all share their experience and knowledge, and proudly display their efforts in a "show and tell" session, followed by a speaker, usually drawn from the membership.

Special interest groups help each other to build model ships, practice furniture building and restoration, to learn wood finishing techniques, make carvings etc

In January each year, the club mounts a weekend exhibition to showcase the skills and enthusiasm of its members.

To be a member, it is not necessary to be an expert, only to love wood and what can be made from it.

If you are interested, come along and see who we are and what we do.
You will be very welcome.
