There are four levels of training in
WON.D.O.G.'s training
programme denoted by the colours Pink, Yellow, White and Green.
Pink classes are subdivided into Pink 1 and Pink 2, with Pink 1
being introductory classes for absolute beginners. As the team of
handler and dog improve they move up to a higher level of
obedience - certificates are awarded for moving up to a higher
level.
WON.D.O.G.'s training grounds are all fenced and
this prevents not only the dogs getting out of the grounds, but
strays from wandering in during training sessions. Tea and coffee
supplied by the club is provided for handlers after each hard
session of training.
The
club has been able to purchase new, half of an agility
course, and this has proven to be a great adjunct to training. The
equipment includes a tunnel, a drum with blind tunnel, two high jumps, one
extended jump and a set of weaving poles. As well, we plan
to manufacture ourselves other items to add to the equipment.
The club has also started a "Flyball"
team - more about this at a later date!
