In June 2005, in memory of their dog "Rusty" (1997 - 2005), Bill and Lynne Newton kindly donated to the club a perpetual trophy to be held in the clubroom and engraved with the names of the winning handlers and their dogs.

The trophy is given in recognition of excellence in training, and will be re-awarded every six months with each consecutive winner receiving a certificate to take home.
