occasionally holds a "sausage sizzle" for handlers (and
their dogs), allowing handlers to socialise and
compare notes with like-minded people in a happy
environment. As well, "fun days" are held twice
a year with races and events for dogs and handlers, and
this is a welcome change from the usual Sunday
training. |

WON.D.O.G.
takes an active role in the presentation of the annual Wonthaggi
Agricultural Show, held in January each year, with our handlers
acting as stewards and judges for the various classes of dog
events. The club's Demonstration Team also performs at the
Show after intensive practice in the weeks beforehand.
The
club trains aspiring instructors from its own ranks to become
proficient in the coaching and training of handlers and dogs,
aiming to ensure the continuance of the club. Aspiring instructors
are required to meet the highest standards expected by the club's
members and prospective members. |
