Sunday Lunch at Wellers
Instead of going to Williamstown
for lunch in January, as we have been doing for the past few years, this
year we went to Wellers out in Kangaroo Grounds. Many thanks to Jan for
choosing this restaurant - the day was warm and sunny, the scenery beautiful
and the food was very good. The service could have been better, but at least
Jan got a free glass of wine when her meal order got missed out and she had
to wait. Of course, the company was superb. We all said hello and shook
hands and paws with Marianne's new "learner" companion dog, a
lovely 4-month-old golden retriever named Savoy. Sheila had photos from the
recent trip she and John had to New Zealand - some of the same places where
Winter Group members were skiing not that long ago, but looking decidedly
greener and warmer now. Overseas trips was a prominent topic of conversation
as Jan and Loch, Sheila and John and I are all planning to visit various
parts of the world later this year. Many thanks to Eileen, too, for
supplying two discount vouchers which took a total of $60 off our bill. It
all worked out to be a very pleasant day out.
