WinMA (Women in Martial Arts Association) Victoria is a state based group and member of a national network created to support women who participate in the broad spectrum of martial arts and self defence. WinMA provides to its members support, information, education, conferences, workshops and meetings.

WinMA strives to support and promote female participation and development in the martial arts. The diverse nature of martial arts practice gives us much more than just the physical benefits of fitness and wellbeing, but also improves self esteem, confidence, co-ordination and self awareness. The martial arts presents great opportunities for women to feel stronger and more empowered. Martial art women are not of a 'certain type' but come from varied backgrounds and train in the martial arts for a variety of reasons. There are women who are community workers, administrators, teachers, business and self employed women, mothers, students, just to name a few.
