7-Aug-2006 - WineMate/Palm v4.20
released
This is the final functional release of Winemate - I've run out of time and energy for further development and the application has pretty much reached a point of maturity anyway. If there are any remaining bugs identified I will do my best to fix them, but there are no further plans for functionality enhancements beyond this version. The full source code will be posted to the downloads page if anyone else wants to play with it, but even the code has got to the point where major rewrites are needed to clean it up.
In terms of changes, this release adds some requested changes from a couple of WineMate users - a new filter has been added to the main wine/tasting/cellar views to allow any of country/state/region to be used to filter the view list. Nice if you just want to view a list from a single geographic area. Currency handling is now more flexible and a preference is available to hide the decimals on price fields - this will help in countries where the currency is such that large whole numbers are used for prices. A new preference has also been added to allow editing of the default wine class names, this will also allow customisation to a local language.
31-May-2005 - WineMate/Palm v4.14 released
YABFFBF (Yet Another Bug Fix For Bug Fix) - I sure am having some trouble here ... having fixed the previous bug, this seems to have uncovered a further bug with the Notes field in Wine entries - with v4.13 you may have found the wine name appearing in the Notes field. I can't quite see how this code has been like this for so long without anyone noticing, so I'm a little nervous as to whether I've done something else silly ! So I hope it is right now, if you find anything else strange please let me know at winemate@iprimus.com.au (thanks - Chris ).

YABF (Yet Another Bug Fix) - if a Wine, Tasting or Cellar entry is updated and that entry contains information in the Notes field, that information will be lost. Nasty bug this one, unfortunately I missed it until now (thanks Philippe !) - please install this release to your Palm ASAP !!

Another bug fix - updating of state/country links for a region not working properly - unlikely to be used much, but I still like to fix bugs that I find !
9-Mar-2005 - WineMate/Palm v4.11 released
Minor update - fixes a bug with creating new regions linking directly to a country (i.e. no states defined) - if you are trying to do this, you need this version !
16-Jan-2005 - WineMate/PC Released
WineMate/PC v4 is now available from the WineMate/PC Web site and represents the first piece of "WineMate collaboration" from around the world. Since the original WineMate authors got too busy or gave up (take your pick !) completing a desktop companion tool, Philippe Bressy in France stepped up to the plate and has created WineMate/PC.
WineMate/PC is intended as a "support" tool for WineMate to view the WineMate databases on a Windows desktop and/or import additional data. Note that at this point WineMate/PC does not support full synchronisation with the handheld, it is still a manual process to update and load a new database, so you need to know what you are doing ! Further automation for WineMate/PC will be considered as time permits.

4-Sep-2004 - v4.10 represents the transition of WineMate to freeware under the GNU General Public License. Also includes new high density graphics for Palm OS 5 devices and a bug fix in scrolling on some screens.
7-Jun-2004 - v4.04 fixes a bug with the Find function on some releases of Palm OS - also, when a wine is selected from Find, WineMate will launch to the View Wines list and scroll to the screen that contains the wine.
31-Dec-2003 - Several bug fix releases since September, the latest being v4.03 - this release fixes an application error when trying to delete an entry from the last page of a scrollable view list.
28-Sep-2003 - WineMate/Palm v4.00 Released
WineMate/Palm Version 4.00 is now available on the downloads page - this is a major release of WineMate/Palm and includes changes to the database structures as well as a long list of functional enhancements, including the following :-
- Notes field now accessed from a button on all Edit screens to free up screen space
- Edit Tastings screen reworked to provide more space to rating comments
- Edit Cellar screen includes new fields Original Quantity, Date In, Date Out
- New filters added to View Tastings/Cellar to allow view by grape variety
- Additional statistics reports added for vintage and investment information
- Added Clear item to editable popup lists so fields can be cleared
- Added additional “quick select” popups to some edit fields
- Improved colour implementation and its flexibility
- Many other minor changes, too numerous to mention
