Veterinary Training in Australian Wildlife Care

Dr Anne FowlerDr Anne Fowler

Anne is an experienced Veterinary Surgeon who's true passion is Australian wildlife. She is heavily involved in providing quality training and education about wildlife care and treatment. Her commitment to our wildlife is demonstrated by her extensive voluntary contribution. The minimal cost of training enables all wildlife carers and others to be able to acquire competent skills and knowledge in handling and rehabilitating wildlife.
Anne was working in a Hunter Valley mixed practice, when 'IT' all began. A wildlife carer said "You know how to treat animals, I know how to care for them - Let's teach each other." Since then she has been treating and caring for Australia's wildlife and training wildlife carers. She has practical hands-on carer experience and is a registered Wildlife Shelter operator.

She has been a committee member of the Unusual and Exotic Pet Special Interest Group of the AVA and is currently the president of the UEP.  In 2004 Anne obtained her MACVSc in Avian Health and the Medicine of Australasian Wildlife Species in 2008.
She has worked at the Wildlife Health and Conservation Centre at the University of Sydney as a Senior Clinical Veterinary Registrar.  Anne is now Managing Veterinarian at the RSPCA Vet Hospitals, Hunter Region (Tighes Hill & Rutherford).
