Seven Year Service Awards

Seven year service awards were presented to:-
Jessica Runting, Daniel Pangbourne, Meagan Bursa, Adele Palmer, Adam Hurst and Jamie Hurst.

100m Handicap Races

It was run slightly different this year with 2 heats and the first 2 athletes from each heat going into the final.

Ryan Franzi  ran a sensational 11.92 to win  his heat of the boys event  but he was unable to produce it again  in the final. Alex Buchanan was able to find some extra pace to narrowly beat Tyler Matthes with Ryan closing fast for third. Doug Dreissen  again finished fourth.
Likewise in the girls event, Sarah Buchanan loomed as the favourite with a  great win in 13.43 seconds over scratch marker Mia Tulen. Kristen DeGroot also looked a big chance after a great win in the second heat over Brittini Lanchester-Hawker and Catherine Runting. But again it was the younger athlete Brittini who found something extra for the final for an inspiring win over Mia with Kristen and Sarah equal third.

Championship Day 1500m Race

Ryan Franzi made up for his disappointment in the 100m with a devistating run in the 1500m race. Matthew De Groot had a great run for second place ahead of Nicholas McMullen with another great effort.
Alysha Eccles has shown great improvement in her distance running this season and she bolted away on this occassion for a great win in the girls section. Second place went to Sarah Buchanan with the much improved Meagan Bursa in third place.
