Sunset over Hanging Rock.

This photograph was taken from a farm in Woodend looking towards Hanging Rock. In winter the top of the Rock is often shrouded with cloud adding to its mystery and on one or two days a year it is also covered with snow. Originally named Mt. Diogenies and also known for a period as Dryden's Rock after the man who owned the surrounding property, it is now universally known as Hanging Rock and is famous for the Race Meetings and other festivals which are held every year on its surrounding reserve.
