Macedon Ranges Bushland.

Woodend township nestles at the foot of Mt. Macedon and this photograph was taken on the lower slopes of the Mount only about five minutes drive from the township. Much of the area is reserved as parkland incorporating a number of interesting trails. The famous Australian artist Frederick McCubbin owned a property at Woodend called "Fontainbleau" which is still surrounded by the type of bushland depicted in this photograph. It features as the backdrop to many of his paintings.
