Competition Rules
1. Only financial members of Williamstown Camera Club can participate in competitions.
2. Members may enter up to 3 prints and 3 slides in each competition, Set Subject and Open. Set
Subject is selected by the committee and the image is to pertain to the subject and Open is whatever you like to take. The maximum size for a large print is 16" by 20" (41 cm x 51 cm) including mount and the minimum is 6” by 4” (15cm x 10cm) excluding the mount..
3. All entries must carry the name of the club, state Set or Open, be titled, have the member's competition number plus a letter for each competition. i.e. 21A, 21B and 21C for Set subject and 21A, 21B and 21C for Open. Names should not appear on entries. Slides must be in 2" mounts and have a contrasting spot in the lower left hand corner when viewed correctly.
4. An entry receiving an award may not be entered again - but that entry can be entered in End of Year, Interclub and VAPS competitions. For VAPS, the club can only enter 10 prints and 10 slides and 10 small prints to represent the club and these are selected by the committee.
5. Members must give all entries to the Print and Slide Steward at the meeting before the competition or as designated by the Steward. Entries are then forwarded to a judge for assessment. Interclub entries may need more time, especially VAPS entries because the competition is for all of Victoria and judged by 3 judges at a convention held annually.
6. For the End of Year Competition, all entries must have been entered in the competitions listed in the syllabus during the year. It is not necessary for entries to have gained a place to be eligible. Maximum of three entries. Members must have entered at least 3 competitions during the year to be eligible for entry to the End of Year Competition.
The following trophies are awarded annually by the Club at the December meeting:
