Aims and Objectives
The Werribee Chinese Association incorporation was formed in 1994, founded by Doris Ang With her strong determination and the support from all the sincere members, the committee of the incorporation was set up to achieve the aims and objectives below:-
- To promote friendship, solidarity and unity among the Chinese in the surrounding suburbs notwithstanding their country of origin, dialect or background.
- To develop educational Chinese languages and cultural development among the residents; thereby contributing to the multi-cultural richness of Werribee and as well as the other of suburbs of Australia.
- To create opportunities for development Chinese cultural activities.
- To promote culture, maintain traditional culture and historical background and let the general public be aware of the existence of The Werribee Chinese Association Incorporation.
- To provide help in general and a forum for the discussion of issues relevant to the Chinese community wherever a worthwhile cause arises.
- To co-operate with other ethnic communities in working for a better cultural program in Werribee including the surrounding suburbs in Australia.
- The incorporation is run by voluntarily staff. It is non-political and non-profit making. However, the Committee reserves the right to employ or co-operate for payment such people as are requested by the Committee of the Associates.
- The Committee is willing to co-operate and support groups and organisation with similar aims and objectives.
