Publishing Local and Family History

10 am	Entry
11 am	Christine Worthington Promotions & Publications Librarian Prahran Mechanics Institute	The Prahran Mechanics Institute Press was created with a grant in 2004 from the Department for Victorian Communities. The aim of PMI Press is to be a facilitator of small publications about Victorian history.
12.00	Lunch
12.45pm	Official opening by Aneeta Krishna, documentary filmmaker and Board member of Melbourne's Living Museum of the West. Ms Krishna will also draw the Raffle.	Drawing of the raffle
1.00 pm	Panel discussion chaired by Aneeta Krishna. Bill Hannan, Hotham History Project, author of "The Pride of Hotham" Catherine Reichert, Footscray Historical Society, editor of "Footscray and Yarraville: a pictorial history." Lenore Frost, Essendon Historical Society, editor of "Federation Times in Essendon and Flemington."	The speakers will give a brief overview of the issues involved in publishing their books, and visitors will be welcome to ask questions afterwards. Update 12 Oct Unfortunately, owing to family circumstances Rob Olston is unable to be with us on Sunday.

Catering

The Keith Farquhar Rover Crew,
which is the Moonee Valley District Crew for the Hoadley Region, will be helping us out with Catering on Sunday. This is an opportunity for the Keith Farquhar Rover Crew to do some fundraising to support their activities in Scouting, which includes maintenance of the District Scout Camp at Rowallan.

$2.00 per serve Sausage in bread, with sauce or Cheese and cracker platter or Hot tomato soup, buttered roll	$1.50 per serve Tea or Instant coffee or Cold drinks in cans: Coca cola Diet coke Solo
$1.50 per serve Mud cake or Fruit cake or Lamington	50 cents each Snack size Mars Bar or Snack size Twix or Snack size Bounty

We hope you'll support the Rovers.

The venue has a large hall where all the Exhibitors will be located, a separate room for guest speakers, and a kitchen for catering purposes. There is a capacious carpark at the side, and a bus stop at the front door.

Bus numbers 216 and 219 stop outside the Footscray YMCA on an hourly basis on Sundays. Please check Metlink for details of the route and timetable.
