Sun-17-Feb-08 Sat-23-Feb-08 Base Camp HORSEYARDS FLAT. TENT CAMPING 80KMS NORTH OF LICOLA Day walks around Mt Howitt, Snowy Range, Moroka Gorge, The Pinnacles, Snowy Bluff and Tali Karn.  This is an Alpine environment.  Horseyard Flat is a large grassed camping area alongside the Moroka River.  There is plenty of room and a bush toilet available.  Access is by 2 wheel drive vehicles. An overnight pack carry to Lake Tali Karn, the Valley of Destruction and the 16 river crossings on the Wellington river can be included if a second Leader volunteers for the Pack Carry. Base camp will provide support and transport to and from the walk.  This is one of the best overnight walks in Victoria.  Nearest fuel is at Licola 10-18km various grade walks Various

Sat-22-Mar-08   Day Walk CASTLEMAINE " WELSH VILLAGE" A walk through the old gold diggings and ruins of the "Welsh Village".  Part of the walk is along the old aqueduct, which is narrow and can be slippery. There is a 200 metre ascent over the walk, and although the distance is not great it will take 5 1/2 - 6 hours. If anyone is interested we could have dinner in Castlemaine after. 11.5 km Medium

Sat-01-Nov-08   Day Walk BUTTON -GRASS NATURE WALK AND FOUR BROTHERS ROCKS This event is in 2 parts. 1. The nature walk is an easy 3km / 2 to 3 hour walk which everyone can do. Yow will be given an  leaflet that describes the great variety of different plants that can be seen.  M M will lead this walk and help us find and understand the plants.   2. After lunch we will walk to the 4 Brothers Rocks a medium graded walk of 6km  2 to 3 hours. You may choose to do only the first walk and return home after lunch.   Easy/Medium

Sat-29-Nov-08   Special Event SORRENTO OCEAN BEACH or POINT NEPEAN The aim is to introduce a group of recently arrived Burmese Refugees to our splendid Victorian coastline. A significant contribution will be made towards petrol costs (from a grant from the Victorian Multicultural Commission). Final destination will be dependant on weather and budget; any entry fees will be reimbursed. Ocean beach: a series of short walks from the picnic area, along cliff tops and beach: or Point Napean (budget dependant, TBA): Parks vehicle to various sites. then walk to explore. Bring food to share with our guests and enjoy a feast of gourmet delights prepared by all participants. Short Easy
