Viet Boys from Down Under

The Viet Boys from Down Under, directed by Huu Tran and starring Dominic Golding, Rad Rudd and Khanh Nguyen, is a cross-cultural and experimental multimedia theatre project. Told through poetry, lullaby, music, martial arts and karaoke, Viet Boys reflects Vietnamese youth sub-cultures, explores male sexuality, power, and depression in cosmopolitan Melbourne. Viet Boys focuses on the journey of Smithy, an orphan from Vietnam, Brad who is half-Aussie and half- Vietnamese, and Van a migrant and struggling Melbourne film director. Together, three different Viet Boys search for love, identity, work and friendship in a city where culture and multiculturalism can mean two very different things.
