I am looking for information about a break in at the Australian
PX at
1ALSG between May 1970 and March 1971. This is to do with a claim
by a
Australian Nurse who was at 1 Aust Field Hospital during that
time.
DVA are giving her a hard time and I need proof of the break in
to the
PX. If anyone can help please do email me.

Please help - great site though I have been searching for a book
for
the last couple of years without success.
In 1990 the Vietnam Education Bus attended
my school in Tamworth, on
this bus I (partly) read a book which contained ex-vets comments
on the
war varying from a paragraph to a page or two. At the end of this
book
was a list of all vets that served.
I would like to buy this book but can not find out what it is called.
If anyone can help me can they email
me on
www.davidlollback@optusnet.com.au and title it 'vet book'.
Thanks am looking for my fathers history
as was an ex vet (different
name).

Great to hear of the good work you are doing and to read the guestbook
and find such a diverse group of callers.
I served with 2RAR in Malaya then 6RAR in Vietnam 66-67. Again
in
Vietnam with 1ARU 1970 then with HQ 1ATF in 1971 until the end.
I did not want the ethos of the Australian soldier of the mid-20th
Century to be lost so have written and published a avry large,
high-
quality book on the subject. It contains over 300,000 words of
text
and 550 photographs, both colour and black and white.
Please viswit the website to see more and read the "Reviews".
Once again, the best of luck with your endeavours,
Regards,
Brian

I am trying to find out if any Vietnam veterans were also veterans
from
the Dunkirk evacuations in 1940. I realize this means service
in both
the Australian and British armies, so there would be no logical?
or
easy way of determining the answer to this question.
I know of one veteran who does fit this category - Dunkirk
1940 and
later Vietnam 1966 - but I am trying to find out -is this a unique
combination of service records; or, if not unique, how many of
these
vets might there have been?
Any suggestions as to how to do this would be appreciated,
or if you
have any info that would answer this question, greatly appreciated.

Two things...1st, and foremost, my "Sincerest -&- Eternal
Gratitude -&-
Thanks" to the awesome people of Australia, with special
regard to the
wonderful crowd from Sydney, for the cheerful, hospitable and
friendly
treatment when I was on R-&-R from Vietnam (United States
Marine Corps)
in late, '68.
2nd, and, sorry, also a foremost, would
be great to hear from the fine
Sydney lady (And I do mean "Lady") which I met at a
USO Dance. Her name
is Jeannie Lane (Spelling may be debatable). Any assist would
be
greatly appreciated.
Love all of ya'...If not for the great
memories from that visit, there
is no way I could have survived the sleazoid and harsh treatment
from
my own countrymen of, sadly to say, the USA. And I speak for many
of my
fellow vets.
Again....."THANKS"
Sincere regards
-&-
