The nature of this segment varies from month to month.

Syllabus items may involve a guest speaker or a member speaking on a particular prototype or modelling topic. There is usually a slide night once a year.

Past speakers have covered topics such as weathering models, prototype signalling practice, casting in resin and metal, electronics applications in modelling and prototype bridge construction.

The syllabus item for the December meeting is a short talk by each of the section winners from the previous month's annual competition.
