The mid-year competition is to encourage members to 'have a go'.
The club has a wide range of resources available to members. The library contains bound volumes of model railway magazines from Australia and both sides of the Atlantic. Diagrams of VR rolling stock and other items are also available. Prototype matters are also covered by the club's extensive collection.
As well as this, the membership of the club comprises not only lay modelling enthusiasts but also people who have worked or currently still work in the railways. These people are a wealth of knowledge of prototype practice and plant.
