7A, modelled to 1:48 scale is pictured on the layout of Allan Rocket. The prototype ran on the VR narrow gauge (2'6") system from 1902 and members of the class can still be seen in steam and hauling trains on the Emerald Tourist Railway (Puffing Billy). This model, built to 4mm scale to run on 20mm gauge track, is of a Victorian Railways J class 2-8-0 locomotive. SAR Mansard-roofed car, also to 4mm scale, 20mm gauge. SAR K class tank loco, 0-6-4 wheel arrangement, also to 4mm scale, 20mm gauge. VR loco crane built in brass to 4mm scale, based on a D and S models kit. Match truck and other vehicles scratch built to 4mm scale, all running on 20 mm gauge track

These models of Victorian Railways Narrow Gauge prototype are from Fraser Clayton. The pictures were taken by Fraser Clayton. The wagon bodies are Ian Lindsay polyurethane castings and the underframes are various. Some are cast polyurethane and others fabricated from brass. The roofs are venetian blind slats cut to size with tissue stuck on to represent canvas and corrugated aluminium to represent galvanized iron.
