VR ZP van

John Gilbert built this Victorian Railways passenger guards van from a SEM Z van kit. He modified the original castings by removing the cast-on handrais and replacing them with wire ones. The HO scale model represents one of the Z vans that were modified by equipping them with dual couplers and some extra weight to make them suitable for use on passenger trains during the transition era between screw and automatic couplers.
