We aim to make the music collection available to our members who include orchestras, string ensembles, brass bands, school music departments, musicians, performers, students and music teachers. Membership is available at a reasonable rate and allows loans from our collection along with other benefits. We also welcome supporters of the library and gratefully accept all donations which can be made tax deductible.

Our collection currently includes:
• Piano music solos – used by both performers and teachers
• Orchestral music -- often used for school performances
• String orchestra music – used by school and community groups
• Band music – suitable for new bands and community groups
• Percussion music – a large collection rarely available elsewhere
• Solo instrumental music – including pieces for AMEB and VCE exams
• Choral music and voice music – both secular and religious
• Chamber music – often used in schools or by professionals searching for out of print material

Please see our catalogue page for more detailed information or feel free to contact us with any questions.

      Call for Volunteers

Are you passionate about music?
Do you believe in the power of music education and community music?
Can you spare a few hours a fortnight, or a specific amount of time?

The Library urgently needs assistance to help with a range of tasks including shelving, servicing borrowers, answering telephone calls and general administrative tasks.

We also have uncatalogued orchestral, choral, solo and chamber music to be sorted alphabetically on the shelves.

If you could commit to just three hours a fortnight, or would like to come on an ad hoc basis, you could make a major contribution in assisting VML to achieve our aims. Office hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10am to 5pm.

If you would like further information please contact the VML on (03) 9528 3135 or email us at
musiclib @ iprimus .com .au (remove spaces) at any time.
