Veterans Wives Group

Newsletter on the Net - No. 29 - March 2005

If you would like to meet and have the company of ladies in similar circumstances to yourself, then please come along to one of our monthly get togethers.

We meet on the second Wednesday of each month at the RSL in Ringwood at 6pm. Alternatively you may like to come along for a lunch or cup of coffee on the last Monday of the month again at RSL Ringwood at 12 midday. We are a friendly bunch and you can be assured of a warm welcome. Last month we renewed friendships with the girls from Frankston. We met at the Dandenong RSL for lunch and long chats. Good to catch up with the girls again. This may well become a more regular event.

The Aussie Veteran’s Opportunity Shop at 5 Erica Avenue, Boronia has been in operation since November 2001. The shop has had a major impact on the local community in providing cost effective clothing, furniture, white goods, bric a brac and a wide range of books and electrical gear. Most days are fun filled and some volunteers tell us openly that a day working in the shop is a major tonic in their lives.  The shop is always in need of volunteers, so if you can spare some time. You would be most welcomed.

The shop operates between 10.00am and 4.00 pm Monday to Friday and 10.00 am to 2.00 pm Saturdays.

Best wishes and regards

Sue Stancombe
