Veterans Wives Group

Newsletter on the Net - No. 22 - July 2004

Coming out in the winter night air, is not much fun, however we had a large number attending our monthly catchup.

The group enjoyed a trip down to the Vietnam Veterans Museum in San Remo. Two bus loads transported the group down to the Museum. They tell me that they enjoyed lots of fun and laughter.

Another group of Veterans wives and a few hubbies are planning a trip into the Malt House theatre in the coming week to view the play “Minefields and Miniskirts”. The reviews have been excellent, so we are looking forward to the day. This play may be confronting for some of the vets and their wives but its all part of the healing process we all need to go through.

During winter some of you may find it difficult time to come out in the evening. So to enable those ladies who cannot make the Wednesday evenings, or miss the Wednesday evening altogether, there is an opportunity to come and meet over lunch at the RSL in Ringwood. We thought the last Monday of the month would be a suitable time frame. Lorraine and I will be there from about midday, so please come along, you would be made to feel very welcome.

Holidays

Welcome back to some of our travellers and we wish our girls who are still holidaying a safe and happy trip.

Welcome to New members

A warm welcome to new ladies to the group.

VVCS Self-Care Programme

This course has now completed and by all accounts quite successful.

Week away in Rye: 20th - 27th October

The dates for our week away have now been set. Please keep this in mind and consider coming for just a few days or even the whole week. Should be a great week, with lots of fresh air, walks along the beach, food, wine, company and conversation.

Final notes

We have some new car stickers to purchase. They are available from the front desk of Ringwood RSL at a cost of $3-00
