· Offer advice, when required, to the Minister of Sport on matters pertaining to the development of sport for people with disabilities.

. Liaise with other appropriate Government Departments, mainstream sporting associations, AAA Service Providers and community groups to promote sport for people with disabilities.

. Promote the aims and objectives of Member Associations

. Develop awareness concerning the potential of people with disabilities to participate in sporting activities within the community and schools.

. Assist in the development and promotion of integrated sporting activities for people with disabilities

. Establish and maintain links with other like organisations within Australia to promote sport for people with disabilities

. Represent DSV on the Disability Sport Australia Network.

. Raise finance to further the aims and objectives of DSV and Member Associations.

. Initiate Research and Education Projects to be developed where necessary.

. Act as an information and referral service for parents, community groups and sporting and recreation organisations.
