about the VBAC or joining us

suggestions to improve our site

us know if you have any issues or concerns
Why not join the Victorian
Branch Abseiling Council, the VBAC are always looking for more
Guides, Abseiling Leaders, Instructors and Assistant Abseil Leaders
to help run Abseiling activities across the state of Victoria.
If you are interested in the training aspects of Abseiling, you
can join the Training Team and participate in courses within
the state of Victoria.
Training Team membership involves
a thorough understanding of the technical and practical applications
of recreational abseiling in Scouting. Once fully qualified under
Train the Trainer, application can be made as an Abseil Leader
(Advanced) and possibly continue onto Senior Instructor or Assessor
with formal training qualifications.
Membership to the VBAC is open
to Venturers, Rovers and Adult Leaders who have a current Abseiling
qualifications, experiance, or an interest in abseiling. Those
outside of scouting can also join as lay members and undertake
training as Abseiling Activity Leaders as part of the VBAC or
another team. Membership of the VBAC does require that applicant
complete the scout clearance process prior to working with youth
members in scouting and the council or teams.
The VBAC is the parent unit
for Scout Abseiling within Victoria, other Abseiling Teams are
based in geographic areas and are also associate members of the
parent body. If you don't have a unit in your area, why not start
one up! Gather like minded qualified or interested people and
contact us to help bring it all together.
