An excerpt from the first edition
of the VAFC Newsletter.

made to form the VAFC, and to incorporate.

-
Sue
Carroll President
-
Sally Edwards Vice President

It has been a
drawn out couple of years since the idea of the professional association
for financial counsellors was first muted, but developments are moving
faster now.
The first twelve
months of the Association will be crucial to its success, and it is
hoped that the membership will make themselves available to participate
when needed for Sub-Committees etc., as there are many issues to be
worked on, including:-
- Publicity and
promotion of the VAFC and the Financial Counselling profession.
- Work towards
improved award conditions
- Lobbying for
increased funding and support for Financial Counselling.
- Monitoring tertiary
education for Financial Counsellors.
- Etc., etc., etc
We currently have
18 financial members, with pledges of intention to join from many others.
Please talk to other financial counsellors about the VAFC and encourage
them to join.
The
VAFC has a lot to offer its members, and the number of members
we have, will make a difference to the effectiveness of our
lobbying.
