CONTINUING
PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION (CPE)
"Continuing Professional Education
must enhance
the Financial Counsellor's professional practice."
In order to qualify for accredited membership of the Victorian Association
of Financial Counsellors a minimum amount of Continuing Professional Education
must be completed and recorded each year.
The model used for
CPE is one giving responsibility to individual members to design their
own professional development program. A broad range of activities are
provided to choose from, including reading relevent materials, participation
in structured professional development sessions, presentation of professional
development sessions, and supervision of students.
The CPE component
of annual accreditation also includes supervision for all workers which
is given high priority by the VAFC as an invaluable support mechanism
for Financial Counsellors.
Further detailed
information, for members only, is available at the VAFC online community
at http://www.mc2.vicnet.net.au
(see Newsletters).
