Foil training sessions take place every Saturday from 1:30 - 3.00 pm
at the National and State High Performance Centre (the Fencing Factory).
The training sessions are conducted by Stan Guo. Stan is a qualified
foil coach and has many years of high level coaching experience in China.
Many Victorian junior foilists have already benefited from his excellent
teaching style and experienced his infectious enthusiasm.
Sessions include warm up, footwork, drills and targetted bouting, designed
to be of benefit to senior and junior fencers of all levels.
The fee for each session is $5.00, which is be collected by Stan at
the start of each session. This fee covers part of the coaching costs,
with the remainder subsidised by VAFA.
It is possible that the format and fee structure of Squad Training will
alter as the squad evolves, depending on the level of demand and the needs
of the fencers.
